9 Years of Rising: The Valley’s Art + Music Festival
Reseda Rising started in 2016, when 11:11 Projects partnered with Councilmember Bob Blumenfield to invest in the Sherman Way corridor, the first spark of what would become the Valley’s biggest community art celebration. That early partnership grew into something bigger in 2022, when Reseda Rising held its first Mural Festival, turning blank walls in Reseda into a public gallery painted by local artists telling their own neighborhood’s stories.
Aside from a pause during the pandemic, we’re back and celebrating our 7th year in 2026, and it’s the biggest chapter yet. This year’s Mural Festival brings 12+ new large-scale murals to life across Canoga Park, Reseda, and Winnetka, painted in real time by artists from the neighborhoods they grew up in. And for the first time, you’ll be able to step inside them: a special VR presentation will let festivalgoers experience the Mural Festival in a fully immersive way, walking wall to wall through the art before it’s even finished.
